Elmaualm: a hut on the south side of the Tennengebirge since around 1860
The Elmaualm at 1,533 metres is run by volunteers from the Salzburger Bergsportclub, who take turns week by week. The round trip from the Wengerau takes about three and a half hours.

The Naturfreunde's volunteer-run self-catering hut at 1,585 metres in the Tennengebirge has won the federal organisation's award. It is the first time the title has gone to Salzburg.

Alpin Team Trail: running for people in need
At the ATT charity trail run in Werfenweng, every entry fee goes to people in hardship. The long course covers 50 kilometres and 3,450 metres of climbing, crossing the Grießscharte at almost 2,000 metres.

Two new hotels add around 400 guest beds to Werfenweng
